Psychedelic/Instrumental Hip-Hop

So, I was recommended this by my good friend Dwayne (who also raps a bit when he is free under the moniker Cortez and The Crow), and I am intensely glad he did so. From what I have gathered through my intense google skills, CLAMS CASINO is the name that Mike Volpe, a young gentleman from New Jersey who for a long time was producing hazy, hypnotic beats for rappers such as Lil B (Praise be to the Based God) and Soulja Boy.

However, mid-way through 2011, he decided to release an instrumental mixtape of a few choice songs he produced. And people then went bat-shit insane over this. But can you blame them?

Psychedelic haze prevalent in every song, warm, lazy beats all tied together with lo-fi, distorted vocals just looping along in the background. Even without the rapping, actually, scratch that: ESPECIALLY without the rapping, these songs are brilliant pieces of music in their own right, perfect backdrops to lazy days.
